Great show! People Who Could Fly were awesome at our event! They performed at our hotel for 140 people and everyone had a great time!

James was professional from the very first inquiry. He was highly responsive, listened to our needs and customized a playlist for our event. On the day of the event he arrived on time, set up and broke down without any disruption. We hired him as an individual, but I have a feeling he is awesome with the full band too!

Press Highlights

AZ Republic, July 2017

“Musically, the EP finds the trio moving in more of a synth-driven, dance-pop direction, leading to highlights as ripe for getting bodies on the dance floor as "Fire in Your Eyes," where theopening line is "shaking allthe walls just to feel the beat,"and "Something to Believe In," where the synth work appears to bechanneling New Order in their prime.”

AZ Central, March 2017

“Pot of Gold returns to Rawhide Events Center for two days... Saturday’s bill is focused more on punk, alternative, and pop with Flogging Molly, Death Cab for Cutie, Fitz and the Tantrums, NOFX, Less Than Jake, X Ambassadors, Katchafire, Wolf Parade and more. The reason it's included here, though, is because there's a third stage devoted to locals...Saturday brings People Who Could Fly...”

Phoenix New Times, November 2016

“There is a growing movement of radio-ready pop that seems to be happening all over town for the first time in a long time. People Who Could Fly are clearly a part of this burgeoning faction in our music scene, and they may well be one of the finest in that department...This is a sound that concentrates on hooky melodies, a lovely smooth vocal, a fantastic rhythm section, and a lot of pure-pop aesthetics.”

Frequently Asked Questions:

I'm concerned about volume. Is the music going to be loud?

We take great care to keep volume at an appropriate level for your guests. Our drummer plays with "rods", which are much quieter than traditional sticks. All of our instruments are run directly through our sound system so we can adjust to any volume you like with a simple turn of a knob! Whether you want a rockin' dance party experience or a mellow, chilled-out vibe we will accomodate.

How far do you travel?

We primarily service the southwest United States (AZ, CA, NV, NM, TX). We are willing to discuss performances outside of this area. Request a quote to see if we can make it work for you!
Can I request songs?

Part of what makes our service so great is that we know what to play and when to play it. We "read the room" and build our set lists dynamically to fit the audience's age, energy level, and genre preference. That being said, we are happy to accept song requests from our clients. Our wide library covers most popular tunes, but if you have a special request for a new song for your first dance etc, we will learn it for you. We need just a few weeks to rehearse it.
What age group do you play for?

We really do play for everyone. We've completed a few college tours around the country, played dance parties for 55+ communities, teen birthday parties, hip cluba full of 21-year olds, and everything in between. Our sets combine timeless classics with modern hits. Every person in the room will hear their favorite songs from their favorite era.
How far in advance do you book?

We book as far as 12 months in advance. All we need to reserve the date for your event is a 50% deposit.
Can you provide sound and music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing portion of my wedding?

Absolutely! We provide a wireless microphone for speeches, officiant, toasts etc. We also classical acoustic guitarist for elegant dinner and ceremony music, as well as an upbeat acoustic duo for cocktail hour.
What do you wear for performances?

We will fit our attire to your needs. Generally for weddings and corporate events we wear "concert black": semi-formal black attire. Our band leader / MC will wear a tie and formal vest. At our clients' request, we can also wear stylish logo-less clothing (what we wear for performances at bars and festivals)
Do you provide lighting?

Yes we provide a robust and professional lighting / FX setup for our performance space.
Do you require a stage?

We don't require a stage. All we need is a flat space approx 7ft deep x 10ft wide (minimum) for our band performances. Solo acoustic performances only need about 4ft x 5ft.
What happens if one of your musicians falls ill or can't make it the day of our event?

You never have to worry about us missing your event. We have alternates ready for covering any band member in an emergency.
Do you provide emcee service?

Yes, we will gladly act as master of ceremonies - making announcements on your behalf to facilitate the event. This includes toasts.
